Women's Wellbeing

In May 2026, Multicultural Collective received a Tawa Community Grant to run four workshops supporting the wellbeing of multicultural women in Tawa. The workshops are a welcoming space for women from different cultures, especially newcomers, to meet others, build a support network and feel at home in the community. The project is in partnership with the Migrant Women's Social Group.

Together, we’ll focus on:

  • Making friends and reducing isolation.
  • Feeling connected and part of the community.
  • Building job-seeking skills and confidence for work.

What we hope to achieve

  • More job interviews for participants.
  • Stronger profiles on job websites.
  • New friendships and meetups between participants.
  • Women volunteering for local initiatives.
  • More confidence with English.

Accessibility in mind

We book wheelchair-accessible venues and provide screen reader friendly material and a support volunteer so women with disabilities can take part fully.
