International Day to Combat Islamophobia
International Day to Combat Islamophobia On 15 March 2019, two mass shootings took place in Christchurch, New Zealand at the Al Noor Mosque and the Linwood Islamic Centre. The attacks were mainly motivated by anti-immigrant and white supremacist beliefs. Today we remember the lives taken and stand in solidarity against hatred, discrimination, and violence. If we want a community with full multicultural and intersectional solidarity, everyone must oppose hate and discrimination, and support initiatives to combat it, across local and national government, community groups and our own circles. Kia Kaha. Aroha over hate.
